Samsung I8510 Innov8
The Samsung GT-i8510 (marketed as the Samsung INNOV8) is a Symbian OS smartphone produced by Samsung Electronics, announced on 30 July 2008 and released in late 2008. The Innov8's functions include those of a camera phone and portable media player, including an 8-megapixel camera (which its name refers to) with Dual LED and Schneider-Kreuznach optics. In addition to offering e-mail, web browsing, local Wi-Fi connectivity and text messaging, the Innov8 uses the S60 3rd Edition platform with Feature Pack 2, much like e.g. Nokia N85. The phone is available with either 8 GB or 16 GB internal memory and both feature a MicroSDHC memory card slot with support for cards up to 32 GB. The Samsung Innov8 was critically acclaimed and is often considered one of the best Symbian devices of its time. The Nokia N96 is a discontinued high-end smartphone announced by Nokia on 11 February 2008 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as part of the Nseries line. The N96 runs Symbian OS v9.3 ( S60 3rd Edition, FP2). It is compatible with the N-Gage 2.0 gaming platform and has a DVB-H TV tuner and AV output. Compared to the popular Nokia N95 8GB, the N96 has a doubled flash storage capacity (16 GB), dual LED flashes and a slimmer design. However, critics had negative views on the N96's battery life and user-unfriendliness and its downgraded CPU clock speed raised questions. The Samsung G810 is a Symbian OS smartphone developed and released by Samsung Telecommunications. It was announced at Mobile World Congress on 11 February 2008. The handset succeeds the previous G-model, the G800, incorporating the same 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, 3x Optical Zoom, and 3.5G capability, whilst adding Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities and running on the S60 (3rd Edition) Symbian platform. With these features in a slider-package, the G810 was aimed at rivaling Nokia's N95. It has an all-metal casing. The G810 comes with QuickOffice pre-installed which ables to edit and create Microsoft Office 2003 file formats and read PDF files. The Samsung SGH-U900 (marketed as the Samsung Soul) is a slider mobile phone from Samsung Telecommunications. It was introduced at Mobile World Congress on 11 February 2008. It is a member of Samsung's fashion-focused "Ultra" line of handsets and the company's flagship at the time. The Soul initially came in two colors: Platinum Silver and Soul Gray, later also coming in Pink, Silver, and Black and Gold. It is made of a metallic body and the slider has spring mechanism. The Samsung SGH-i900, also known as Omnia I or WiTu (in Russia only), is a smartphone created by Samsung Mobile. Announced in June 2008, the Omnia was launched in Singapore in mid-June, available in stores on the 20th of June, and in the rest of Asia in July. For some parts of Europe, it was launched in August. The Nokia N85 is a smartphone produced by Nokia, announced on 27 August 2008 as part of the Nseries line. The N85 runs on Symbian OS v9.3 with S60 3rd Edition platform with Feature Pack 2. It was released in October, retailing for 450 euros before taxes. The major feature N85 introduced was an AMOLED display, giving brighter and sharper colours. The N85 has a dual-slider like the Nokia N95 to access either media playback buttons or a numeric keypad, and is about 25% slimmer in size. The upper sliding keys illuminate between four multimedia keys in music or video playback, and two gaming keys during the playing of N-Gage 2.0 games.
