Samsara Nauka
''Samsara Nauke'' ( kn, ಸಂಸಾರ ನೌಕ) is a 1936 Indian Kannada language social drama film directed by H. L. N. Simha and produced by K. Nanjappa. This film was the fourth sound film produced in Kannada cinema and the first melodrama film based on social issues. The film met with huge success at the box-office upon release and was subsequently released in Tamil in 1948 with the same star cast. The investment was Rs.33000 and became a commercial success as it earned Rs. 2.5 lakhs. The film cast consisted of B. R. Panthulu and M. V. Rajamma, both making their on-screen debuts, in the lead roles. Both these stars went on to become one of the most popular personalities in South Indian cinema. Dikki Madhava Rao
Dikki Madhava Rao (born Murali Madhava Rao; 15 January 1919 – 14 July 1985) was an Indian actor and singer known for his work as a character actor in Kannada-language films. He spent much of his early years as a stage actor in the 1920s and 1930s before appearing in Kannada films. He gained popularity with his role as the antagonist Kanyakumari Dikshit "Dikki" in the 1936 film ''Samsara Nauka''. Subsequently, the name stuck to him as prefix. As a stage actor, Rao worked with theatre companies of Mohammed Peer, H. L. N. Simha and B. R. Panthulu. Subsequently, he became a frequent collaborator of the latter two and D. Shankar Singh in films, and in a film career spanning four decades, appeared in 120 films. Biography Madhava Rao was born on 15 January 1919 in Mysore. Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film ''Sati Sulochana'' directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom.
