It is located on the island of Kalimantan, also known as Borneo. It is able to accommodate Airbus A320 and Boeing 737-sized aircraft. The airport is located 6 km North East of the city center. Sampit
Sampit is a city located in East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan. Previously a timber port town, it has grown to be a medium-sized city with a population of 166,773 according to Statistics Indonesia in 2019, with the economy having since divested from timber products. However, the city is not an City status in Indonesia, autonomous city and not an administrative division by despite having a sizeable population and urban built-up. The city consists of 11 subdistricts from Baamang district, Seranau district, and Mentawa Baru Ketapang district. The total area of the city is 751.45 square kilometers. PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines, operating as Merpati Nusantara Airlines, was an airline in Indonesia based in Central Jakarta, Jakarta. It operated scheduled domestic services to more than 25 destinations in Indonesia, as well as scheduled international services to East Timor and Malaysia. Kalstar Aviation was an airline based in Serpong, Indonesia. The airline was founded as "Kalstar Tour-Travel Co., Ltd" in Samarinda in December 1993 by Andi Masyhur. History Masyhur purchased the airline's first aircraft, an ATR 42, nicknamed ''KSE'', in Bungay on 22 September 2008.
