The Samoa women's national football team represents Samoa in international women's football. The team is controlled by the Football Federation Samoa. History The team contested the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, winning silver. The team topped Group A in the 2022 OFC Women's Nations Cup after defeating both Tonga and the Cook Islands. Football Federation Samoa is a member of the Oceania Football Confederation and is the national governing body for association football in Samoa. It was founded in 1968 and became a FIFA member in 1986. The Samoa national football team is a regular entrant into OFC competitions, including FIFA World Cup qualifying. Championships Samoa National League Football Federation Samoa hosts one league, the Samoa National League. The current champion of the league is Lupe o le Soaga, as of the 2017 season. ANZ National Stadium
The HFC Bank Stadium ( formally known as ANZ Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Suva, Fiji. HFC Stadium is used primarily for rugby league, rugby union and football matches, and features a track as well as a pitch suitable for worldwide competition. It has undercover seating for 4,000 spectators, and concrete and grass embankments that increase the capacity to 15,000 people. Construction and renovations Originally called Buckhurst Park, the stadium was constructed in 1951 on sixteen hectares of land given by William H. B. Buckhurst in 1948. The stadium was first renovated in 1978–1979 for the Sixth South Pacific Games. Work commenced in April 1978 with the demolition of the grandstand, which had lost its roof during Hurricane Bebe.
