Flag Of Samoa
The flag of Samoa ( Samoan: ''fu‘a o Sāmoa'') was first adopted from 24 February 1949, for UN Trusteeships, and continuously applied for the state's independence on 1 January 1962. It consists of a red field with a blue rectangle in the canton. The blue rectangle bears the Southern Cross: four large white stars and one smaller star. The flag is officially defined by the ''Official Flag and National Anthem of Samoa Act 1994''. Donny Tuimaseve
Donny Tuimaseve (born 17 April 1999) is a Samoan athlete. He competed in the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia, as well as in the 2022 Pacific Mini Games. Tuimaseve was born in Vaiafai on the island of Savaiʻi. He competed in the 2017 Pacific Mini Games, winning a gold medal with a throw of 63.73m. At the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018 he came 10th in his qualifying round, with a throw of 67.78m. Following the competition he took a three year break from the sport to work as a Mormon missionary in the Philippines. Alex Rose (athlete)
Alexander Melei Rose (born 17 November 1991) is a Samoan-American athlete, competing primarily in the discus throw and occasionally in the shot put and the hammer throw. He represented Samoa at the 2016 Olympics, and 2020 Summer Olympics, as well as the Commonwealth Games and Pacific Games. Life Although born in the United States, Rose holds dual citizenship with Samoa, since his father was born there and emigrated to the US as a 19-year-old. He threw for Central Michigan University. He represented Samoa in the 2013 World Championships in Athletics and the 2015 World Championships in Athletics, failing to qualify for the final on both occasions. He's had great success at the Oceania Athletics Championships, with eight gold medals and a silver in three different throwing events—Discus, Shot Put & Hammer Throw—over four different games from 2021 to 2017. Kolone Alefosio (born 29 September 1999) is a Samoan athlete. He has represented Samoa at the Pacific Games and Commonwealth Games. Alefosio is from Vaoala in Apia. He won a bronze medal in the 110m hurdles at the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila. He competed in the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia, achieving a personal best in the 110m hurdles. He later competed in the 2019 Pacific Games in Apia, winning silver in the 4 × 100 metres relay and bronze in the 110 metres hurdles. The men's 200 metres at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, as part of the athletics programme, took place in the Carrara Stadium between 10 and 12 April 2018. In the final, it initially appeared that England's Zharnel Hughes had edged Jereem Richards of Trinidad and Tobago at the line, recording the same time of 20.12 seconds. However, upon review Hughes was disqualified for impeding Richards (running in the next lane) using his arm. Kelvin Masoe
Kelvin Tuʻiala Masoe (born 4 March 1999 in Satuiatua) is a Samoan track and field sprinter who competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He attended school at Vaiola College on the island of Savaii in Samoa. Athletics career Masoe competed for Samoa at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the men's 100 m and the men's 200 m sprint events. In the men's 100 m, Masoe was drafted into heat 2 of the competition, he ran the race in a new personal best of 10.72 seconds and finished fifth place out of out of seven athletes, this time was unable to advance Masoe through to the later rounds. In the men's 200 m, Masoe was drafted into heat 7 and finished seventh out of the eight athletes that raced, beating only Pako Seribe who did not finish the race. Masoe ran the race in another personal best of 21.98 seconds but was not fast enough to advance through to the later rounds of competition. In 2019, Masoe competed in the Pacific Games in Apia. Jeremy Raponi Dodson (born August 30, 1987) is an American-Samoan sprinter, competing primarily in the sprint events of track & field.
