Samuel J. Wilson (30 November 1936 – 30 October 2022) was a Northern Irish footballer who played as a forward. Career Born in Dromore, County Down on 30 November 1936, Wilson played for Crusaders, Glenavon, Falkirk, Dundee and Coleraine. Dromore, County Down
Dromore () is a small market town and civil parish in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies within the local government district of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon. It is southwest of Belfast, on the A1 Belfast–Dublin road. The 2011 Census recorded a population of 6,003. The town's centre is Market Square, which has a rare set of stocks. It is in the old linen manufacturing district. Dromore has the remains of a castle and earthworks, although these have modern buildings surrounding them, a large motte and bailey or encampment (known locally as "the Mound"), and an earlier earthwork known as the Priest's Mount on the Maypole Hill. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them.
