Sammi Awuku
Samuel Awuku ) is a Ghanaian politician who was Deputy Communications Director, National Youth Organiser and currently the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He is also the board chairman of the National Youth Employment Agency (YEA). In 2021, he was appointed as the Director General of the National Lottery Authorit Birth Sammi is the only son among four sisters and the last born of his parents. He was born and raised in Koforidua, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Education Sammi had his basic education at Nana Kwaku Boateng Experimental School. He continued his secondary education at St. Augustine's College in Cape Coast and later read Political science and Psychology at the University of Ghana, Legon. Koforidua
Koforidua, also popularly known as K-dua or Kofcity, is a city and the capital of Eastern Region in southern Ghana. Koforidua was founded in 1875 by migrants from Ashanti. 2016 Ghanaian General Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2016 to elect a President and Members of Parliament. They had originally been scheduled for 7 November 2016, but the date was later rejected by Parliament. Former foreign minister Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party was elected President on his third attempt, defeating incumbent President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress. The election results were announced on 9 December 2016 due to a delay of voting in two areas. At 19:51 local time, Mahama called Akufo-Addo to concede defeat. At 20:45, the Electoral Commission declared that Akufo-Addo had defeated Mahama in a single round. It was the first time in Ghana's history that a sitting president had been defeated for reelection.
