Samir Nassar
Samir Nassar (born 5 July 1950 in Nebay, Lebanon) is the current archeparch of the Maronite Catholic Archeparchy of Damascus. Life Samir Nassar received on August 17, 1980, the sacrament of Holy orders and was incardinated in the clergy of the Maronite Archeparchy of Damascus. On 10 June 2006, he was elected bishop by the synod of the Maronite Church to the Archeparchy of Damascus. Pope Benedict XVI approved his election as archbishop of the Archeparchy of Damascus on 14 October 2006. Maronite Church
The Maronite Church is an Eastern Catholic ''sui iuris'' particular church in full communion with the pope and the worldwide Catholic Church, with self-governance under the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches. List Of Maronite Patriarchs
This is a list of the Maronite patriarchs of Antioch and all the East, the primate of the Maronite Church, one of the Eastern Catholic Churches. Starting with Paul Peter Massad in 1854, after becoming patriarch of the Maronite Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch, they assume the name "Peter" (Boutros in Arabic, بطرس ), after the traditional first Bishop of Antioch, St. Peter, who was also the head of the Apostles. Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir ('; ar, الكاردينال مار نصر الله بطرس صفير; la, Victor Petrus Sfeir; 15 May 1920 – 12 May 2019) was the patriarch of Lebanon's largest Christian body, the Maronite Church, an Eastern Catholic Church in communion with the Holy See. Paul Youssef Matar (born 1 February 1941 in Naameh, Lebanon) was the former Archeparch of the Maronite Catholic Archeparchy of Beirut. The archeparchial seat is the city of Beirut, at the Saint George Cathedral. Life Paul Youssef Matar was born on February 1, 1941, in the Mount Lebanon Governorate in Na'ameh, located in the historic Chouf Region. On 5 June 1965 at the age of 24, Matar was ordained to the priesthood. Joseph Mahfouz, OLM (born 20 February 1932 in Ghadir, Lebanon - died 25 August 2010, Ghadir, Lebanon) was a clergyman of the Maronite rite and eparch of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of São Paulo. Lebanese Maronite Order
The Baladites, formally known as the Lebanese Maronite Order (; abbreviated OLM), is a monastic order among the Levant-based, Catholic Maronite Church, which from the beginning has been specifically a monastic Church. The order was founded in 1694 in the Monastery of Mart Moura, Ehden, Lebanon, by three Maronite young men from Aleppo, Syria, under the patronage of Patriarch Estephan El Douaihy (1670–1704).
