Samir Karnik ( pa, ਸਮੀਰ ਕਾਰ੍ਨਿਕ, hi, समीर कार्निक, ur, ), is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter of Hindi movies. Career Karnik made his directorial debut with the film '' Kyun! Ho Gaya Na...'' in 2004 starring Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi. He produced and directed the film '' Heroes'' in 2008. He has also written the story and dialogues of some of his movies. His directorial venture ''Yamla Pagla Deewana'' starring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol Vijay Singh Deol (born 27 January 1967) popularly known as Bobby Deol, is an Indian actor who works in Hindi cinema and web series. ''Yamla Pagla Deewana'' (; ) is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Samir Karnik, featuring Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol in the lead roles. The film marks the second pair-up between the Deol family, after ''Apne'' (2007). The film's title is inspired from the song "Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana" from the 1975 film, '' Pratigya'' also starring Dharmendra. The theatrical trailer of the film unveiled on 5 November 2010, whilst the film released on 14 January 2011, and received good response upon release. It turned out to be a box office hit.
