Samik Bhattacharya
Samik Bhattacharya is an Indian politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is spokesperson of BJP's West Bengal state unit and a very well known face in Bengali media. Bhattacharya was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the Basirhat Dakshin constituency in North 24 Parganas district. Political career Samik Bhattacharya went to West Bengal Legislative Assembly after winning 2014 by-election from Basirhat Dakshin constituency . He also contested 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election from same seat but lost the election. He lost 2019 Lok Sabha election from Dum Dum Parliamentary constituency as BJP candidate against AITC's candidate Sougata Roy. 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election
The 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election for 292 of the 294 constituencies in West Bengal was held between 27 March to 29 April 2021 in eight phases. Voting for the two remaining constituencies was delayed to 30 September 2021. The incumbent All India Trinamool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee won the election by a large margin, despite opinion polls generally predicting a close race against the Bharatiya Janata Party, which became the official opposition with 77 seats. Sougata Roy
Prof. Saugata Roy (born 6 August 1946) is an Indian politician of Trinamool Congress and a member of parliament in the Lok Sabha of the Indian Parliament representing the Dum Dum constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha. He was the Union Minister of State for Urban Development in the Manmohan Singh government. A National Science Talent Search Scholar and a former student of St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata, Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College and Presidency College, Kolkata, he holds a post-graduate degree in Physics. 2019 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to elect the members of the 17th Lok Sabha. Votes were counted and the result was declared on 23 May. Dipendu Biswas
Dipendu Biswas (29 September 1981) is an Indian retired professional footballer, who is the current team manager of the I-League outfit Mohammedan Sporting Club. Playing career Biswas's father is from Bengal and mother is from Kerala, Thalasseri, Kannur district. He graduated from the Tata Football Academy in 1996. He rejoined Mohun Bagan in 2012. His earnings in 1998–99 were reported to be Rs1.2 million and in 1999–2000 were Rs0.8 million. 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election
A Legislative Assembly election was held in 2016 for the 294 seats (out of 295 seats) of the '' Vidhan Sabha'' (Vidhān Sabhā) in the state of West Bengal in India.
