Sami Sharaf
Sami Sharaf (; 20 April 1929 – 23 January 2023) was an Egyptian military officer who held various posts during the presidency of Gamal Abdel Nasser. His public roles ended in May 1971 when he was arrested and then imprisoned by the Egyptian authorities under the presidency of Anwar Sadat. Early life and education Sharaf was born in Heliopolis, Cairo on 20 April 1929. His father, Mohamed Abdel Aziz Sharaf, was a physician who was trained in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and served as the director of Beni Suef Governorate. Sami had five siblings. Sharaf graduated from the Military Academy in February 1949. One of his teachers at the academy was Gamal Abdel Nasser. Career and activities Following his graduation Sharaf joined the army. Gamal Abdel Nasser
Gamal Abdel Nasser Hussein (15 January 1918 – 28 September 1970) was an Egyptian military officer and revolutionary who served as the second president of Egypt from 1954 until his death in 1970. Nasser led the Egyptian revolution of 1952 and introduced Land reform in Egypt, far-reaching land reforms the following year. States News Service was a news agency that operated from 1973 to 2004. Run by Leland J. Schwartz (b. 1949), the agency provided coverage of Washington, D.C., and the federal government for regional newspapers without their own D.C. bureaus. Later it expanded into the document retrieval business and an "hourly newspaper" called ''The Latest News''. Ashraf Marwan
Mohamed Ashraf Abu El Wafa Marwan, known as Ashraf Marwan ( 2 February 1944 – 27 June 2007), was an Egyptian official who worked as a spy for the Israeli Mossad. From 1969 on, Marwan worked at the Presidential Office, first under Gamal Abdel Nasser and then as a close aide to his successor, Anwar Sadat. In the lead-up to the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Marwan provided crucial information to Israel. In the 1980s, Marwan moved to London, where he became an arms dealer. He died under mysterious circumstances on June 27, 2007, after falling from the balcony of his house in London.
