''Saamy'' ( God) is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language action masala film written and directed by Hari. The film was presented by K. Balachander and produced by Pushpa Kandasamy under banner Kavithalayaa Productions. The film stars Vikram and Trisha and Kota Srinivasa Rao (debut in Tamil cinema) in a negative role. Karuppu Sami (Tamil: கருப்பசாமி, IAST: Karuppasāmi) is one of the regional Tamil male deities popular among the rural social groups of Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala. He is one of the 21 associated folk-deities, and is hence one among the demigods or kaval deivams in Dravidian folk religion. He is sometimes considered to be a form of Shiva among Shaivas. ''Prosopis cineraria'', also known as ghaf, is a species of flowering tree in the pea family, Fabaceae. Sami is a town in Sami Taluka of Patan district of Gujarat, India. History According to the tradition Sami takes its name from its founder, an ascetic of Atit or Sami order. It came under the power of the Nawab of Radhanpur around 1753; and at the beginning of the nineteenth century was his capital and headquarters. The great plague of 1816 carried off about one-half of its population. Sami was under Radhanpur state. Radhanpur was under Palanpur Agency of Bombay Presidency, which in 1925 became the Banas Kantha Agency. After Independence of India in 1947, Bombay Presidency was reorganized in Bombay State. Sami ( el, Σάμη) is a town and a municipality on the island of Cephalonia, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2019 local government reform it is one of the three municipalities on the island. It is located on the central east coast of the island. The municipality has an area of 291.2 km2 and the municipal unit (the pre-2010 municipality) has an area of 129.326 km².
