Samba is a town, municipal committee in the only Samba Tehsil of the Samba District in the Indian Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Geography Samba is located at and has an average elevation of . Samba is situated in the Shivalik Hills alongside the National Highway 1-A on the bank of the Basantar River, at a distance of from the city of Jammu. The Shakti Pitha or the Shakti Peethas ( sa, शक्ति पीठ, , ''seat of Shakti'') are significant shrines and pilgrimage destinations in Shaktism, the goddess-centric denomination in Hinduism. Mansar Lake
Mansar Lake is a lake located from the city of Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is fringed by forest-covered hills, and is over a mile () in length and half-a-mile () in width. Surinsar-Mansar Lakes are designated as Ramsar Convention in November 2005. Mansar is primarily fed by surface run-off and partially by mineralised water through paddy fields.
