Samaria Ladies
Thunder Queens F.C. is a Ghanaian professional women's football club based in Accra in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The club is in the Ghana Women’s Premier League. History Thunder Queens was established in 2010 by Sammy Adamaley and Anas Seidu Thunder as Samaria Ladies Academy. Adameley, who was the co-owner of the club, mutually terminated his contract and left the club, after which Siedu became the sole owner and CEO. In August 2020, the club was rebranded and the name changed to Thunder Queens. In the 2015–16 season, the club gained promotion to the Southern zone of the Ghana Women's Premier League (GWPL) for the first time. In 2021, the club reached the semi-finals of the 2021 Ghana Women's FA Cup. Ground The club plays its home matches at the Tema Community 8 park. Ghana Women’s Premier League
The Ghana Women’s Premier League (GWPL), currently known as the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was launched in 2012 as the National Women's League (NWL) and is the top division league for women's football in Ghana. Contested by 18 clubs in two zones (southern and northern zone), it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Ghana Women's Division One. Seasons run from December to July with each team playing 16 matches (playing all 8 other teams in their zone both home and away). Most games are played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. In November 2021, Hilary Boateng was appointed by the Ghana Football Association as the chairperson of the Women's Premier League Committee. 2021 Ghana Women's FA Cup
The 2021 Ghana Women's FA Cup is the 3rd edition of the Ghana Women's FA Cup, the women's knockout football competition of Ghana. Gifty Acheampong (born 5 November 1999) is Ghanaian women's football forward. She played in the Turkish Women's First League for 1207 Antalya Döşemealtı Belediye Spor with jersey number 19. She was a member of the Ghana women's U-17 team. Early life Gifty was born in Koforidua, in the Eastern Region of Ghana on 5 November 1999. She was abandoned by her parents without knowing them, and was adopted by the petty trader couple Acheapong when she was only one month old. She lost her father at a young age, and things got difficult. She was raised by her adoptive mother during her school years. However, she had to drop out the high school as her mother could no more afford to earn her keep.
