Samantharam
''Samantharam'' ( en, Parallel) is a 1985 Malayalam film by John C. Sankaramangalam. Soorya, Babu Namboothiri, Sai Das and Balan play the lead roles. Plot Susan and Jose are students of the post-graduate course in the university. They fall in love and decide to get married. The political scene in the university is turbulent. Once, Susan and Jose happen to witness the death of one of their collegemates in the hands of a group of students. When the police enquiries begin, Jose tries to wash his hands by denying his knowledge about the murder. This creates disturbances in Susan's relation with Jose. Susan's admiration to Mohan, her teacher and the leader of a students union, creates suspicions in Jose's mind also. But eventually, they do get married. Jose gets a job in a factory and the couple move to Trivandrum. Meanwhile, Mohan, who has been fired from the university becomes a union leader in Trivandrum. John Sankaramangalam
John Sankaramangalam ( ml, ജോൺ ശങ്കരമംഗലം,, link=yes ; 16 July 1934 – 30 July 2018) was an Indian filmmaker and former director of the FTII, Pune. He has also served the positions of vice-chairman of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, principal of St. Joseph College of Communication and as a jury member of the International Film Festival of India. He was an executive member of CILECT. He was a renowned teacher in filmmaking and recipient of numerous awards including National Film Award, Kerala State Film Award and Nargis Dutt Award. Babu Namboothiri (born 12 August 1947) is a retired Chemistry Professor and Head Of Department of Deva Mata College Kuravilangad and an Indian film and TV actor who has starred in more than 100 Malayalam films and various serials. He is famous for his villain and character roles, best known for his portrayal Thangal, in ''Thoovanathumbikal'' (1987), as the primary antagonist, Ajith, in ''Nirakkoottu'' (1985), the devious advocate in ''Jagratha'', among many others, and in ''Cheriya Lokavum Valiya Manushyarum'' as Madhava Menon, an evil businessman and drug-dealer. Jerome Thomas Veleeparambil, more popularly known by his stage name Jerry Amaldev (born 15 April 1939) is a three-time Kerala State Film Awards winning Indian composer of film scores who has given music to some of the most important motion pictures of Malayalam cinema.
