Samir Gogna, known professionally as Sam YG (short for Samir Young Guy), and also known as his character Shivaker (born August 18, 1984), is a Filipino radio and television personality. He is the one of the three '' Boys Night Out'' hosts on Magic 89.9 along with Tony Toni and Slick Rick. He was also a co-host for ''Eat Bulaga!''. Early and personal life Gogna was born and raised in the Philippines; he is a fourth-generation Indian Filipino: his family are Catholics originating from Jaipur, India. He has an older brother and a younger sister. Gogna attended Ateneo de Manila University from grade school to college. Gogna aspired to become a lawyer when he was a teenager, which led him to pursue a degree in legal management. Gogna became a target of bullying during his youth because he was Indian. His peers called him ''Bumbay'' (Filipino ethnic slur for Indians), ''5-6'' (Indian loan shark) and ''mabaho'' ( Tagalog for "smelly") based on Filipino stereotypes about Indians. ... Q (formerly QTV, standing for Quality TeleVision) was a television network in the Philippines run by GMA Network Inc. through Citynet Network Marketing and Productions, Inc. The network primarily aired lifestyle programs and dramas particularly aimed toward women. Its flagship station was DZOE-TV, which GMA ran as part of a lease with its owner, ZOE Broadcasting Network (who also aired programming on Q's schedule as part of the agreement, which also granted it access to technical resources from GMA). Studio 23 (officially Studio 23, Inc. and previously AMCARA Broadcasting Network) was a Filipino television network owned by ABS-CBN Corporation. The network was named for its flagship station in Metro Manila, DWAC-TV and carried on UHF channel 23. The network was a sister network of the main channel, ABS-CBN, airing programming aimed towards young adults, such as North American imports and other English-language programming, and original Tagalog programming aimed at the demographic as well, such as supplemental programming for ABS-CBN programs. Hero (also known as Hero TV) was a 24-hour Philippine pay television channel created by ABS-CBN's narrowcast arm Creative Programs Inc. from 2005 to 2018. The programming was composed primarily of Filipino-dubbed Japanese anime series. It was dubbed as "The First and All Tagalog-dubbed Anime Channel in the Philippines." In February 2018, Hero was relaunched as a digital web portal operated by ABS-CBN Digital Media, providing limited news content on anime, pop culture and gaming. Background Much of the content in the channel is attributed to the fact that Creative Programs' parent company ABS-CBN (through its main network) has produced numerous dubs of anime series many years before the launch of Hero, as well as maintained an Animax airing block for quite sometime.
