Sam Miller
Sam Miller (born 28 September 1962) is an English television director. He has worked on the BBC television dramas ''Cardiac Arrest'', ''This Life'' and ''Luther''. He works with London-based production company Mustard Film Company. He is father of the actor William Miller, who played Oliver Twist in the 2007 television adaptation. Miller has received three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special, one in 2012 for ''Luther'' and two in 2021 for ''I May Destroy You'' for the episodes "Eyes Eyes Eyes Eyes" and "Ego Death" (with Michaela Coel). Saxmundham
Saxmundham ( ) is a market town in Suffolk, England, set in the valley of the River Fromus about north-east of Ipswich and west of the coast at Sizewell. The town is bypassed by the main A12 road between London and Lowestoft. The town is served by Saxmundham railway station on the East Suffolk Line between Ipswich and Lowestoft. Governance Saxmundham Town Council comes under East Suffolk District. It was previously in Suffolk Coastal District before April 2019. The district electoral ward also has the name Saxmundham. Its population at the 2011 census was 4,913. As of December 2022, Saxmundham Town Council consisted of ten councillors. Heritage The place-name Saxmundham is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086 as ''Sasmunde(s)ham''. It appears as ''Saxmundham'' in the Feet of Fines of 1213. Among Giants
''Among Giants'' is a 1998 British film directed by Sam Miller and written by Simon Beaufoy. It is set in Yorkshire, and stars Pete Postlethwaite, Rachel Griffiths and James Thornton. The plot came about after Beaufoy was refused permission to make a documentary on electricity pylon painters in Pembrokeshire, and converted the idea into fiction. The script predates that of ''The Full Monty'', but only found a producer in the wake of the earlier film's success. The practicalities of shooting atop electricity pylons, not to mention insurance difficulties, meant that a safer mock-up pylon was made for the actors. This proved unconvincing: Postlethwaite remarked that "I don't believe we are up there, and if you don't sell that shot you don't sell the rest of the pylons," and so some material was re-shot on real pylons after training from Electricity Board climbing experts.
