Samuel James Long (born 12 November 2002) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Bromley. Club career Lincoln City Born in Redbridge, London, England, Long began his football career at Crystal Palace, but he was released after being "told that he was too small". Following his release, Long had an unsuccessful trials after leaving Crystal Palace. Afterwards, he played for schools’ football and Sunday league. After playing for the school's final, Long was scouted by Lincoln City and were impressed by his performance that they signed him. While progressing through the Lincoln City's youth team, Long was named in ‘The 11’ by League Football Education, due to his "real commitment to his development, conducts himself impeccably at all times and is progressing in all areas of his apprenticeship". Redbridge, London
Redbridge is an area of Ilford in East London, England. It gives its name to the London Borough of Redbridge, a local government district of Greater London, with which it should not be confused. Etymology The name comes from a bridge over the River Roding which was demolished in 1921. The bridge was made of red brick, unlike other bridges in the area, which were made of white stone. The name was later applied to the wider London borough created in 1965. The bridge was earlier known as ''Hocklee's Bridge''. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football.
