Samuel Davis House (Norwich Township, Franklin County, Ohio)
The Samuel Davis House is a historic farmhouse located near the cities of Columbus and Dublin in Norwich Township, Franklin County, Ohio, United States. One of the county's older buildings, it was home to a pioneer settler, and it has been named a historic site. Samuel Davis was born in Litchfield, Connecticut in 1763, but after a time of apprenticeship to a silversmith, he joined the Continental Army and fought in the American Revolution. Following the end of the war, he travelled west to Kentucky County, Virginia to trade silver gadgets with the Indians. Here he met numerous frontiersmen of renown, including Daniel Boone, Nathaniel Massie, and Simon Kenton. After a period of time serving as a scout for a military group called Mason County Spy Company (assembled under Simon Kenton and General Scott, he found the present property and bought it on March 12, 1814, from a Highland County resident, and he built his house here in the following year.Owen, Lorrie K., ed. Samuel ''Šəmūʾēl'', Tiberian: ''Šămūʾēl''; ar, شموئيل or صموئيل '; el, Σαμουήλ ''Samouḗl''; la, Samūēl is a figure who, in the narratives of the Hebrew Bible, plays a key role in the transition from the biblical judges to the United Kingdom of Israel under Saul, and again in the monarchy's transition from Saul to David. He is venerated as a prophet in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In addition to his role in the Hebrew scriptures, Samuel is mentioned in Jewish rabbinical literature, in the Christian New Testament, and in the second chapter of the Quran (although Islamic texts do not mention him by name). He is also treated in the fifth through seventh books of ''Antiquities of the Jews'', written by the Jewish scholar Josephus in the first century. He is first called "the Seer" in 1 Samuel 9:9. Sam Davis House (Smyrna, Tennessee)
The Sam Davis House (also known as the Sam Davis Home) is a historic house in Smyrna, Tennessee. It is now a museum to the memory of Confederate soldier Sam Davis. History The house was first built as a log house in 1810, and remodelled by Charles Davis in 1847. His son, Sam Davis, who became known as the "Boy Hero of the Confederacy", grew up in this house. The house was acquired by the State of Tennessee in 1927, and turned into a house museum for its association with Sam Davis by the Sam Davis Historical Association in 1930. Edith Pope, the second editor of the '' Confederate Veteran'', donated an antique bed and clock as well as a large photograph of Sumner Archibald Cunningham to the museum.
