Sam Cook (born 1 August 1993) is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer who last played as a for the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL. Background Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Cook is of Māori descent. Cook played his junior rugby league for the Northcote Tigers before being signed the New Zealand Warriors. Cook played in the Warriors NYC team in 2013. In 2017, Cook was selected in the Warriors 2017 NRL Auckland Nines squad. New Zealand Warriors
The New Zealand Warriors are a professional rugby league football club based in Auckland, New Zealand that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and is the League's only team from outside Australia. They were formed in 1995 as the Auckland Warriors, and are officially known as the One New Zealand Warriors for sponsorship reasons. The Warriors are coached by Andrew Webster and captained by Tohu Harris. The Warriors are based at Mount Smart Stadium in the Auckland suburb of Penrose. For the 1995 season the newly formed Auckland Warriors became the first club from outside Australia to be admitted to the Australian Rugby League's premiership when it expanded from 16 to 20 teams. 2017 NRL Auckland Nines
The 2017 NRL Auckland Nines (known as the Downer NRL Auckland Nines due to sponsorship) was the fourth NRL Auckland Nines competition.
