Gulf Of Salwah
The Gulf of Salwah (Dawhat Salwah) is the southern portion of the Gulf of Bahrain. The Gulf of Salwah is a narrow bay separating the peninsula of Qatar from Saudi Arabia. It is bordered to the west by a well-vegetated shoreland containing palm trees and reed beds. To the east are low cliffs and hills, with sand dunes and salt flats at the southern end. Geography The Gulf of Salwah is an elongated bay extending southwards from the Gulf of Bahrain. It is about long and about wide at its widest point. To the west lies Saudi Arabia and to the east Qatar. The surface of the land surrounding the Gulf of Salwah is largely flat, covered with sand or pebbles. Salwa Judum
Salwa Judum (meaning "peace march" or "purification hunt" in the Gondi language) was a militia that was mobilised and deployed as part of counterinsurgency operations in Chhattisgarh, India, aimed at countering Naxalite violence in the region. The militia, consisting of local tribal youth, received support and training from the Chhattisgarh state government. It was outlawed and banned by a Supreme Court court order but continues to exist in the form of armed auxiliary forces, District Reserve Groups, and other vigilante groups. On 5 July 2011, the Supreme Court of India, in a case filed by Nandini Sundar and others, declared the militia to be illegal and unconstitutional and ordered its disbanding. The Salwa Canal was a proposed shipping route and tourism project through Saudi Arabia along its border with Qatar, effectively turning the latter into an island. Salwa (also written as Śalva [Shalva]) is a kingdom grouped among the western kingdoms in the Epic poetry, epic Mahabharata. It was close to Madra Kingdom as both are mentioned together in many places. Saubha was its capital. Salwa Toko (born October 1975) is a diversity and digital literacy activist. She is President of the Conseil National du Numérique (CNNum). Early life and education Toko was born in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. Her mother is of Moroccan and Syrian heritage and her father is from Nigeria and Benin. Her grandmother fought for women's rights in Arab countries. Toko grew up in Mali and attended high school in France.
