Salvatore Joseph Cordileone (born June 5, 1956) is an American prelate of the Catholic Church and the archbishop of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco, Archdiocese of San Francisco in California since 2012. He previously served as bishop of the Diocese of Oakland in California from 2009 to 2012 and as an auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego, Diocese of San Diego in California from 2002 to 2009. A Traditionalist Catholicism, traditional theologian, he is known for his willingness to celebrate Mass (liturgy), Mass in the Tridentine Mass, Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (also known as Tridentine Mass).
