Salvador Videgain Gómez
Salvador Videgain Gómez (1845–1906) was a Spanish actor, singer, Record producer, producer and composer. Private life Videgain was born in Málaga in 1845. He is of Spanish, English, Irish and Basque people, Basque ancestry. Videgain married actress Antonia García de Videgain in 1868 and founded the artistic Videgain family, the most long lived in the history of theatre in Europe. They had two children: Antonio Videgain (born March 1869) and Salvador Videgain Jr. (born 26 February 1886). His grandson was Antonio Videgain Reparaz (born in 1892), and the descendant of Salvador Jr. Juan José Videgain (born in 1975). As he was the youngest son of his house and his grandmother and father died as a child, he always lived the maternal love and that of his older brothers, among whom was Guillermo, founder of a long family of military sailors and businessmen, with whom the family will have a long relationship. Tomás Bretón
Tomás Bretón y Hernández (29 December 1850 – 2 December 1923) was a Spanish conductor and composer. Biography Tomás Bretón was born in Salamanca. He completed his musical studies at the School of Fine Arts in his hometown, where he earned his living playing in small provincial orchestras, theaters and churches. At age 16, he moved to Madrid, where he played in orchestras in zarzuela theatres. He also began his studies at the Royal Conservatory under Emilio Arrieta. In 1872, Bretón received the first prize for composition at the Conservatory, together with Ruperto Chapi. After having worked in small theaters for several years, in 1882 he received a grant from the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando which enabled him to study in Rome, Milan, Vienna and Paris between 1881 and 1884. Ruperto Chapí
Ruperto Chapí y Lorente (27 March 1851 – 25 March 1909) was a Spanish composer, and co-founder of the Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers. Biography Chapí was born at Villena, the son of a Valencian barber. He trained in his home town and in Madrid. He wrote many symphonic, band, choral and chamber works, as well as '' zarzuelas'' and operas, becoming, alongside Tomás Bretón, a fellow pupil of Emilio Arrieta at the Madrid Conservatory. He was one of the most popular and important composers of his time. He wrote zarzuelas in all shapes and sizes, including the three-act ''zarzuela grande'' and the one-act ''género chico'' forms. His most celebrated work is '' La revoltosa'', written in the latter style. Many of the preludes to his ''zarzuela''s (including those to ''El tambor de granaderos'' and ''La patria chica'') have remained staple items in Spanish orchestral concerts. Joaquín Valverde Durán
Joaquín Valverde Durán (27 February 1846 in Badajoz – 17 March 1910 in Madrid) was a Spanish composer, conductor and flute, flautist. As a composer he is known for his Classical music written in collaboration, collaborations on zarzuelas (he has been described as "the collaborative musician ''par excellence''"). He was also the father of Joaquín Valverde Sanjuán, Joaquín "Quinito" Valverde Sanjuán, who achieved a greater level of fame. He studied at the Madrid Conservatory under José Aranguren (harmony), Pedro Sarmiento (flutist), Pedro Sarmiento (flute) and Emilio Arrieta (composition).
