Salto Del Agua Metro Station
Salto del Agua is a metro (subway) station on the Mexico City Metro. It is located in the Cuauhtémoc borough in the center of Mexico City. Starting 9 July 2022, the Line 1 station will remain closed for at least eight months for modernization work on the tunnel and the line's technical equipment. Name and iconography Its logo represents the ''Salto del Agua'' fountain. This fountain is at the end of the old Chapultepec Aqueduct, also known as the Belen aqueduct. This aqueduct ran from what is now Chapultepec Park, following Chapultepec Avenue and Arcos de Belen (Arches of Belen) Streets ending at this fountain. It lies on the border of the historic center, Colonia Doctores and Colonia Obrera. Contrary to popular belief, this fountain is not the original but rather a reproduction. Colonia Doctores
Colonia Doctores (''English: Doctors' Colony'') is an official neighborhood just southwest of the historic center of Mexico City. It is bordered by Avenida Cuauhtémoc to the west, across from Belen Street to the north, Eje Central to the east and Eje 3 Sur José Peón Contreras to the south. History The neighborhood was planned by Francisco Lascuráin in 1889, in an area called "La Indianilla". This name came from three indigenous women named María Clara, María Concepción and María Paula, who sold some of their land here to Father Domingo Pérez Barcia to build a small chapel. However, Lascuràin never followed through with his plans to construct the neighborhood. In 1895, The Mexican City Property Syndicate Limited proposed the plan to lay out the neighborhood anew, gaining approval of the Mexico City ayuntamiento. Autobuses del Norte metro station is a Mexico City Metro station in Gustavo A. Madero, Mexico City. It is an at-grade station with two side platforms, served by Line 5 (the Yellow Line), between Instituto del Petróleo and La Raza stations. The Eje Central or Avenida Lázaro Cárdenas is an avenue in the Cuauhtémoc and Gustavo A. Madero boroughs of Mexico City, Mexico. It is part of a system called eje vial of roadways built by Carlos Hank González to modernize Mexico City for improved traffic flow through the city. As its name indicates, it runs through the central zones of the city, starting at Río de los Remedios Avenue (in the limits of Mexico City and Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico) and ending at Río Churubusco Avenue, near Eje Central metro station. Tepotzotlán
Tepotzotlán () is a city and a municipality in the Mexican state of Mexico. It is located northeast of Mexico City about a 45-minute drive along the Mexico City- Querétaro at marker number 41. In Aztec times, the area was the center of a dominion that negotiated to keep most of its independence in return with being allied with the Aztec Triple Alliance. Later, it would also be part of a "Republic of the Indians," allowing for some autonomy under Spanish rule as well. The town became a major educational center during the colonial period when the Jesuits established the College of San Francisco Javier. The college complex that grew from its beginnings in 1580 would remain an educational center until 1914.
