Saltlands Studio
Saltlands Studio is a recording studio based in the New York City neighborhood of Dumbo, Brooklyn, founded in 2007 by owner Steve Salett and partners Dawn Landes and Gary Maurer. It was later joined by music producers and engineers Eli Janney, Jim Smith, and Aaron Rutledge. The studio gained notoriety with records by French Kicks, Alexi Murdoch, Josh Ritter, The Soft Pack, Wilco, Robbers on High Street, Obits, and the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players. The studio also functions as a collective of commercial composers, and in the spring of 2010 the studio received attention for the composition of a song that was awarded the Cannes Lions 2010 "Best Use of Music in a Commercial" Award for the Match.com commercial. A recording studio is a specialized facility for sound recording, mixing, and audio production of instrumental or vocal musical performances, spoken words, and other sounds. Au Revoir Simone is an American indie pop band from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. The group is composed of Erika Forster (vocals/keyboard), Annie Hart (vocals/keyboard/bass) and Heather D'Angelo (vocals/drum machine/keyboard). The band's name comes from a line Pee-wee Herman says to a minor character (named Simone) in Tim Burton's 1985 film '' Pee-wee's Big Adventure''. ''So Runs the World Away'' is the sixth full-length studio album by American singer-songwriter Josh Ritter. It was released on Gramophone record, vinyl record on April 17, 2010, as a part of Record Store Day in the United States. The vinyl record came packaged with a CD version of the album as well. The official album release was April 23, 2010, in Ireland, and May 4, 2010, worldwide. Ritter said of the album that it "marks the beginning of a new period in [his] life," and that overall, "the songs are larger and more detailed, and feel to me as if they were painted in oil on large canvasses." Ritter got the title from a line in the third act of Shakespeare's ''Hamlet''. Augustines (formerly We Are Augustines) were an American indie rock band based in Brooklyn, New York (state), New York consisting of guitarist William McCarthy, multi-instrumentalist Eric Sanderson and drummer Rob Allen. Sondre Lerche (; born 5 September 1982) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and guitarist, now based in Los Angeles, California. He has released nine studio albums. Early life Growing up in a suburb of Bergen, Lerche was heavily influenced by 1980s pop. Lerche was fascinated by bands such as the Beatles, A-ha, the Beach Boys, and Prefab Sprout, and began formal guitar instruction at the age of eight. Not being satisfied with classical lessons, Lerche's teacher introduced him to Brazilian music, such as bossa nova, and thus formed the foundation of Lerche's vast array of complex melodies and chords throughout his music today. Rusty Santos is a record producer and musician based in Los Angeles. Peter Joseph Salett (born May 12, 1969) is an American singer-songwriter. He is best known as a musician for his song " Heart of Mine" in the movie ''Keeping the Faith'', his song score for the 2006 film '' Down in the Valley'', and for co-writing the Dracula puppet musical finale, "A Taste for Love", in the Judd Apatow produced film, ''Forgetting Sarah Marshall''. Pela (band)
Pela was an American indie rock band from Brooklyn known for their intense live performances. History Pela's history goes back to the early ’90s when lead vocalist and guitarist William McCarthy met Christopher Herb. As best friends they worked at a mall together after dropping out of high school, and then traveled around the world together playing music in various cities. Herb and McCarthy began a folk project called Igloo Gazelle in New York City in 2001. In early 2002, Herb had a chance meeting with Eric Sanderson on a subway platform at 7th avenue in Brooklyn where Herb was busking.
