Sally Fitzgibbons
Sally Jayne Fitzgibbons (born 19 December 1990) is an Australian professional surfer on the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour (2009–2013). In June 2019, she was ranked No. 1 in the world for women's surfing after winning the Rio Pro. Sally now competes on the second tier challenger series after failing to qualify for the WSL top 10 at the 2022 mid-season cut. Surfing career Fitzgibbons was born in Gerroa, New South Wales. As a 14-year-old, Sally won the ASP Pro Junior open, an event open to any female surfer 21 and younger. She started surfing at a young age, winning the Icon All-Girls Open Event Lennox Head in 2006 aged 16. 2011 ASP World Tour
The 2011 ASP World Tour was a professional competitive surfing league run by the Association of Surfing Professionals. Men and women competed in separate tours with events taking place from late February to mid-December, at various surfing locations around the world. Surfers received points for their best events. The U.S. Open of Surfing is a week-long surfing competition held annually during the summer in Huntington Beach, California. Generally held on the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier, the U.S. Open is part of the qualification process for the World Surf League and is a WSL QS 10,000 event. It is the largest surfing competition in the world. It has been owned by IMG since 2000. Taranaki is a region in the west of New Zealand's North Island. It is named after its main geographical feature, the stratovolcano of Mount Taranaki, also known as Mount Egmont. Bells Beach, Victoria
Bells Beach is a coastal locality of Victoria, Australia in Surf Coast Shire and a renowned surf beach, located 100 km south-west of Melbourne, on the Great Ocean Road near the towns of Torquay and Jan Juc. It is named after William Bell, a Master Mariner, who owned much of the property there from the 1840s. Many records wrongly accredit the location's name to John Calvert Bell of the family that took up a pastoral run there much later in 1905 and built the 'Addiscot' homestead. John Calvert Bell was, before that time, a resident at Calder Park, Mount Duneed, and not related to William Bell of Bells Beach. The beach and coastal reserve are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. Australia competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Coco Malia Camille Hapaikekoa Ho (born April 28, 1991) is a professional Hawaiian surfer born in Honolulu, Hawaii. She began surfing at 7 years old, following in the footsteps of her family. Early years At age 7, Coco Ho began following in the footsteps of her surfer family. Coco's father, Michael Ho, was a professional surfer (World Cup and 1982 Pipe Masters) as well as her uncle, Derek Ho (1993 World Champion). Her brother, Mason Ho (1st Place Cold Water Classic ASP Pro Jr. 2008), played a major role in Coco's early surfing influences; he inspired her to surf as well as he did.
