Sally And Saint Anne
''Sally and Saint Anne'' is a 1952 American comedy film directed by Rudolph Maté and starring Ann Blyth, Edmund Gwenn and John McIntire. Plot Sally O’Moyne is a schoolgirl who lives with three generations of an eccentric Irish family, including her Grandpa Pat Ryan, who pretends to be close to death. One day at school she can’t find her lunch pail so she prays to Saint Anne, asking for her intercession. When her lunch pail is returned to her, Sally begins to believe Saint Anne is performing miracles for her, and her neighbors ask her to pray to the saint for their requests. Rudolph Maté
Rudolph Maté (born Rudolf Mayer; 21 January 1898 – 27 October 1964) was a Polish-Hungarian-American cinematographer, film director and film producer who worked as cameraman and cinematographer in Hungary, Austria, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, before moving to Hollywood, Los Angeles, Hollywood in the mid 1930s. Life and career Born in Kraków (then in the Grand Duchy of Kraków, Austro-Hungarian Empire, now in Poland) into a Jewish family, Maté began in the film business after his graduation from the Eötvös Loránd University, University of Budapest. John Augustus Kelly Jr. (September 16, 1927 – November 7, 1992), known professionally as Jack Kelly, was an American film and television actor most noted for the role of Bart Maverick in the television series ''Maverick'', which ran on ABC from 1957 to 1962. Kelly shared the series, rotating as the lead from week to week, first with James Garner as Bret Maverick (1957–1960) then with Roger Moore as Beau Maverick (1960–1961) and Robert Colbert as Brent Maverick (1961, for two episodes), before becoming the only Maverick (alternating with reruns from the Garner era) in the fifth season. King Donovan (January 25, 1918 – June 30, 1987) was an American film, stage, and television actor, as well as a film and television director. Early years Francis King Donovan was born in Manhattan on January 25, 1918. His parents were vaudevillians who traveled nationwide in the United States, and at three weeks of age he began traveling with them. He attended Mt. Joseph School in Buffalo, New York through eighth grade, after which he went to work. His acting debut occurred in his teenage years at the Butler Davenport Theater. George Mathews (October 10, 1911 – November 7, 1984) was an American actor whose film career stretched from an uncredited appearance in ''Stage Door Canteen'' in 1943 to '' Going Home'' in 1971. Kathleen Hughes (born Elizabeth Margaret von Gerkan; November 14, 1928) is an American actress. Early life Hughes' uncle, F. Hugh Herbert, was a playwright who authored ''Kiss and Tell'' and ''The Moon Is Blue''. Her desire to act was inspired by a film she saw featuring Donald O'Connor, which gave her the idea that "acting looked like fun."
