Salesforce Tower (Sydney)
The Salesforce Tower is a skyscraper in Circular Quay, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Designed by Foster + Partners, the tower stands at a height of 263.1 metres, making it the tallest office building and the second-tallest building in Sydney. Background Salesforce Tower was built as part of a A$5 billion redevelopment of the Circular Quay precinct, alongside the new buildings of Quay Quarter Tower, One Circular Quay, 56 Pitt Street, 200 George Street, the terminus of the new CBD and South East Light Rail and redevelopment of the ferry wharves. The tower was developed by Lendlease. Construction began in late 2019, with the core of the tower topping out in February 2022. The tower officially opened to the public in November 2022. Software company Salesforce acquired naming rights to the tower in late 2019 and currently occupy 13 levels of the building. Foster + Partners
Foster + Partners is a British architectural, engineering, and integrated design practice founded in 1967 as Foster Associates by Norman Foster. It is the largest architectural firm in the UK with over 1,500 employees in 13 studios worldwide. History Established by Norman Foster as Foster Associates in 1967 shortly after leaving Team 4, the firm was renamed Sir Norman Foster and Partners Ltd in 1992 and shortened to Foster & Partners Ltd in 1999 to more accurately reflect the influence of the other lead architects. Gold Fields House
Gold Fields House was a high rise office block in the Sydney central business district on the corner of Alfred and Pitt Streets. Completed in 1966, it was one of the earliest high rise buildings in Sydney. The tower of 27 storeys was designed by PTW Architects, Peddle, Thorp and Walker "as a balance to the AMP Centre, AMP Building" constructed four years earlier in 1962 at the other end of Circular Quay. Together they created a "gateway" to the city of Sydney. It was sold for redevelopment in 2014 and demolished in 2017/2018. Construction Gold Fields House was built for Consolidated Gold Fields by a joint venture of Mainline Corporation, Mainline, Dillingham Construction, Dilingham and Haunstrup. Salesforce Tower (formerly known as Bank One Tower, then Chase Tower, and originally conceived as American Fletcher Tower) is the tallest building in the U.S. state of Indiana. Opening in 1990, it surpassed the AUL Tower (now OneAmerica Tower) in Indianapolis for the distinction. The building's twin spires' are tall, while the 48 floors of office and retail space and 2 building equipment floors above that peak at the roof. It is the regional headquarters of Salesforce, which moved into the tower in the late-2010s and currently occupies a large amount of space in the building. Circular Quay Ferry Wharf is a complex of wharves at Circular Quay, on Sydney Cove, that serves as the hub for the Sydney Harbour ferry network. Layout The Circular Quay ferry wharf complex consists of five double-sided wharves at 90 degrees to the shoreline, numbered 2 to 6. Wharves 3 to 5 are used exclusively by Sydney Ferries, wharf 2 west is used by Sydney Ferries, wharf 2 east is used by Manly Fast Ferries by while wharf 6 is used by other operators including Captain Cook Cruises. The Quay Quarter Tower is a skyscraper located at 50 Bridge Street, Sydney. Originally built as the AMP Centre in 1976, the structure underwent a redevelopment from 2018 to 2021 which increased its height, incorporated additional floorspace, and modernised the tower's entire form and design. The building re-opened as the Quay Quarter Tower in early 2022 and currently stands at a height of 216 meters (709 feet) with 54 floors.
