Isla Salas y Gómez, also known as Isla Sala y Gómez ( rap, Motu Motiro Hiva), is a small uninhabited Chilean island in the Pacific Ocean. It is sometimes considered the easternmost point in the Polynesian Triangle. Isla Salas y Gómez and its surrounding waters are a Marine Protected Area called Parque Marino Salas y Gómez, with a surface area of 150,000 km2 Throughout its history, the island has been largely untouched by humans, due to its diminutive size and remoteness. The Salas River (; ; ) is a tributary of the Lima. It rises in the Larouco mountains ( :pt:Serra do Larouco), within the municipality of Baltar, Ourense, Galicia. It flows through the territory of the Couto Misto, a former independent state, and the Portuguese village of Tourém ( :pt:Tourém) before being dammed up by the Encoro de Salas, back in Spain. Salas, Asturias
Salas (also known as San Martin de Salas) is a town and ''concejo'' (municipality) in the Principality of Asturias. It lies on the road from San Sebastián to Santiago de Compostela, and on a small subtributary of the river Narcea. It is bordered on the north by Valdés, Cudillero and Pravia, to south by Belmonte de Miranda, to the east by Pravia, Candamo and Grado, and to the west by Tineo and Valdés. Salas is a mountainous region in which coal-mining and agriculture are the principal industries. The products of this region are sent for export to Cudillero, a small harbour on the Bay of Biscay. Salas is well known as a tourist point and as the birthplace of Fernando de Valdés y Salas. Benito Salas Airport ( es, Aeropuerto Benito Salas, ) is an airport that serves the city of Neiva, the capital of the Huila Department in Colombia. It was named after Benito Salas Vargas, a military and social leader during Colombia's (then known as New Granada) independence war (1810–1819). The airport is in a rebuilding process that includes a new control tower and a new building with garages. It was formerly known as "La Manguita airport" because it is placed in an old ranch with that name; even today people call it "La Manguita".
