Noel Fernando Salas (born May 30, 1985) is a Mexican professional baseball pitcher for the Olmecas de Tabasco of the Mexican League. He made his major league debut in 2010. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim / Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets, Arizona Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies. Esther Salas (born December 29, 1968) is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey sitting in Newark, New Jersey. She previously served as a United States magistrate judge of the same court from 2006 until her confirmation as a district judge in 2011. Salas is the first Hispanic woman to serve as a United States magistrate judge and as a United States District Judge in the District of New Jersey. José Mariano Salas
José Mariano de Salas (11 May 1797 – 24 December 1867) was a Mexican soldier and politician who served twice as interim president of Mexico, once in 1846, during the Mexican American War, and once in 1859 during the War of Reform. He was a known partisan of Santa Anna, and his first presidency was held in place for him, after the overthrow of Mariano Paredes, while Santa Anna returned from an exile. Nonetheless, Salas still governed for a few months and energetically passed measures to unite the country and promote the war effort. At Santa Anna's behest, Salas also restored the Constitution of 1824, thus ending the Centralist Republic of Mexico which had been in effect since 1835. His second presidency during the Reform War was much less eventful. Greg Salas (born August 25, 1988) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football for University of Hawaii. College career While at Hawaii, Salas amassed 285 receptions, 4,345 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns and is the school’s career leader in receiving yards. In 2006 Salas redshirted and the following season, 2007, he played in eight games at wideout and posted three catches for 35 yards and one touchdown. Justin Bernard Salas (born March 13, 1982) is an American mixed martial artist who competes as a lightweight. He was signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship from 2012 to 2016. Irma Salas Silva (11 March 1903 – 28 April 1987) was a distinguished Chilean educator. She was the first Chilean woman to earn a doctorate in education, obtained at Columbia University in 1930. Lauro Salas (28 August 1928 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico – 18 January 1987) was a Mexican professional boxing champion in the lightweight division. Professional career Salas was known as a tireless puncher, who often would wear his opponents out in the late rounds with a volume of punches. Boxing as a Featherweight for much of his early career, he was given a title shot against Lightweight champion Jimmy Carter on April 1, 1952, at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles.
