Salahedin Mosque
The Salaheddin Islamic Centre is a mosque located in the Scarborough district of the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada noted for its outspoken Imam Aly Hindy. Since Aly Hindy took over the leadership of the Centre in 1997, Salaheddin has transformed from a small mosque to become a full centre with so many facilities and programs. Beside offering regular prayers, lectures & Conferences, Salaheddin Centre is assisting the disadvantaged and the destitute by offering a host of services including full-time elementary and High school, Marriage and counselling services, food bank, Youth programs; and funeral service along with other activities that seek to improve people's lives. Abdullah Khadr
Abdullah Ahmed Said Khadr ( ar, عبد الله أحمد سعيد خضر; born April 30, 1981) is a Canadian citizen who is the oldest son of the late Ahmed Khadr. He was captured in Pakistan in 2004 and returned to Canada in December 2005. The US paid $500,000 for his capture. He fought a lengthy case to prevent extradition to the United States. It was concluded by an appeal to the highest court in Ontario; the judges unanimously decided in October 2011 in favor of the lower court to refuse the extradition request. Khadr was released from custody. Abdullah Khadr has said that he would "be the first one to stop" any potential attacks against Canada. In 2010 he became engaged to be married, at the age of 29. Fahim Ahmad (born August 10, 1984) is one of 11 people convicted in the 2006 Toronto terrorism case. He was a ringleader in the group. He was 21 years old at the time of arrest, and married with two children. Life Fahim Ahmad was born in Afghanistan and immigrated to Canada at age 10. The 2006 Ontario terrorism case refers to the plotting of a series of attacks against targets in Southern Ontario, Canada, and the June 2, 2006 counter-terrorism raids in and around the Greater Toronto Area that resulted in the arrest of 14 adults and 4 youths (the "Toronto 18"). These individuals have been characterized as having been inspired by al-Qaeda.
