Salad (band)
Salad is a UK-based alternative rock group formed in London in 1992, whose initial line-up was Dutch vocalist/keyboardist Marijne van der Vlugt, guitarist Paul Kennedy, bassist Pete Brown and drummer Rob Wakeman (ex-Colenso Parade).Strong, Martin C (2003) ''The Great Indie Discography'', Canongate, , p.952-953 In 1996, Charley Stone (later of Gay Dad) joined the band as a live guitarist, keyboard player and backing vocalist. The Help Album
''The Help Album'' is a 1995 charity album to raise funds for the War Child charity, which provided aid to war-stricken areas, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina. All the songs were recorded in a single day. The album features British and Irish artists including Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur and Manic Street Preachers. It was followed by '' 1 Love'' (2002), ''Hope'' (2003), '' Help!: A Day in the Life'' (2005) and ''War Child Presents Heroes'' (2009). Recording The album's recording was inspired by the concept behind John Lennon's "Instant Karma!" – records, like newspapers, should be released as soon as they are recorded. ''The Salad Way'' is the third studio album by English band Salad, released in August 2019 by 3 Bean Records. It is the band's first album of new material in 21 years since ''Ice Cream'' (1997). Donald Ross Skinner, the producer behind the band's previous album, became their drummer after working with Marijne van der Vlugt and Paul Kennedy under "Salad Undressed" since 2016.
