Sakkarai Devan
''Sakkarai Devan'' is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language action drama film, directed by J. Panneer and produced by A. S. Ibrahim Rawuthar. The film stars Vijayakanth, Sukanya, Kanaka and M. N. Nambiar. Plot Sakkarai Devan makes and sells jaggery. On a visit to a neighbouring village, he falls in love with Sarasu, on whom the village landlord Vaiga Perumal had already cust his eye. Sarasu widowed brother Vaiyapuri is arrested following an altercation with the landlord over his sister. Dhanam, an orphan, given refuge by Sakkarai, realising her love is one-sided, marries Vaiyapuri. Ibrahim Rowther
Ibrahim Rowther was an Veteran Indian film producer and writer who had worked on Tamil language films. He produced films under the studios Rowther Films, Tamilannai Cine Creation and IV Cine International. Career Ibrahim Rowther launched his first film, ''Uzhavan Magan'' in 1987 to promote his friend Vijayakanth as an actor in the Tamil film industry. Vijayakanth subsequently garnered several bigger offers, and regularly collaborated with Ibrahim during his acting career. In the late 1990s, Ibrahim took up a key administrative role in the Tamil Film Producers Council and later served as its president. His production house, Rowther Films, began to flail in the late 1990s and films such as K.Paarthasarathy's ''Unakkum Enakkum Kalyanam'' featuring Livingston and Devayani were put on hold. Kumaravadivel Natarajan (born 12 September 1960), known professionally as Vadivelu, is an Indian actor, comedian and playback singer, having acted in supporting and lead roles in Tamil cinema. The ''New Straits Times'' is an English-language newspaper published in Malaysia. It is Malaysia's oldest newspaper still in print (though not the first), having been founded as ''The Straits Times'' on 15 July 1845. Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Even though he was a Malayali, as was the case with the majority of contemporary South Indian migrants to Malaya then, his surroundings in Malaysia was dominated by the Tamil language and culture.
