Midnight (musician)
Midnight (born John Patrick Jr. McDonald, April 29, 1962 – July 8, 2009) was an American musician best known for being the vocalist of Crimson Glory. The band became known for Midnight's "ear-shattering screams", which drew comparisons to Geoff Tate, and "painfully strident delivery." Career Midnight joined Crimson Glory in the early 1980s. In 1986, their debut album was issued by Roadrunner Records. It took the newcomers only a couple of years to surpass their debut with their sophomore effort, 1988's '' Transcendence'', a joint release on MCA/Roadrunner. In 1991 they signed to Atlantic Records and released '' Strange & Beautiful'', an album which showed a commercial switch in the band's sound. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Crimson Glory was an American heavy metal band that formed in 1983 in Sarasota, Florida. They started in 1979 under the monikers 'Pierced Arrow', then 'Beowulf', before settling on Crimson Glory. The classic line-up consisted of vocalist Midnight, guitarists Jon Drenning and Ben Jackson, bassist Jeff Lords, and drummer Dana Burnell. With that line-up, they rose to international fame in the mid-1980s and were considered one of the pioneers of the American progressive metal movement, along with Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning and Watchtower. Benjamin Donald Jackson is an American musician and songwriter best known for being the rhythm guitarist of Crimson Glory. He is also known for his short-lived band Parish, and his solo career consisting of two albums ''Here I Come'' and ''All Over You'', and his current project Avenging Benji.
