Ngamthang Haokip
Ngamthang Haokip is a former Minister of Manipur and member of the Indian National Congress. Haokip was elected as a member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly from Saitu constituency in Kangpokpi District from the Indian National Congress in 2017. He resigned from Indian National Congress and later joined Bharatiya Janata Party. Elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly were held in February 2007, to elect members of the 60 constituencies in Manipur, India. The Indian National Congress won the most seats as well as the popular vote, and Okram Ibobi Singh was re-appointed as the Chief Minister of Manipur. 2022 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Manipur from 28 February to 5 March 2022 in two phases, to elect 60 members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly. The results declared on 10 March 2022. The newly constituted assembly was named 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly. Background The tenure of Manipur Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 19 March 2022. The previous assembly elections were held in March 2017. After the election, coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party, National People's Party, Naga People's Front and Lok Janshakti Party formed the state government, with N. Biren Singh becoming Chief Minister.
