Sainte-Anne-du-Lac
Sainte-Anne-du-Lac is a municipality and village in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Antoine-Labelle Regional County Municipality. Sainte-Anne-du-Lac is the northernmost community in the Laurentides region, about from Mont-Laurier. The village itself is located at the northern terminus of Quebec Route 309, on the south shore of Lake Tapani. History Settlement began around 1870. In 1916, the Parish of Sainte-Anne-du-Lac was formed, and the following year, the first school was built. Also in 1917, the Township of Décarie was established, and incorporated as a township municipality in 1920. It was named in honour of Jérémie-Louis Décarie. The township municipality used to extend to the Lièvre River, but the south-eastern portion was ceded in 1928 to the then newly created Municipality of Mont-Saint-Michel. Quebec Route 309
Route 309 is a provincial highway located in the Outaouais region in western Quebec. It starts at the junction of Autoroute 50 in the Buckingham sector, in the city of Gatineau's east end. It runs mostly parallel to the Du Lièvre River and ends north of Mont-Laurier in the town of Sainte-Anne-du-Lac in the Upper Laurentians. Initially, the highway started at the junction of Route 148 in the Masson-Angers sector about 3 kilometers south of Buckingham and about 10 kilometers of its current southern terminus. An eastern extension of A-50, as part of the 3-phase project that would connect both segments of the highway between Buckingham and Brownsburg-Chatham (near Lachute) by 2010, was completed in 2005 and Transports Quebec relocated the route's southern to the current western segment terminus at Dougherty Road to act as a by-pass of Buckingham. Labelle (provincial Electoral District)
Labelle is a provincial electoral district in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Mont-Laurier, Mont-Tremblant, Rivière-Rouge, Mont-Blanc, Lac-des-Écorces and Labelle. It was originally created for the 1912 election from part of the Ottawa electoral district. Its final election was in 1970. It disappeared in the 1973 election and its successor electoral district was Laurentides-Labelle. However, Laurentides-Labelle disappeared in the 1981 election and its successor electoral district was the re-created Labelle. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged. Jérémie-Louis Décarie
Jérémie-Louis Décarie, (August 30, 1870 – November 5, 1927) was a Canadian lawyer, politician, and judge in the province of Quebec. Born in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Quebec, the son of Daniel-Jérémie Décarie and Philomène Leduc, Décarie was educated at Sainte-Marie College and at the Université Laval in Montreal. He was called to the Bar of Quebec in 1896 and was created a King's Counsel in 1904. He read law, first in the office of E. Barnard and later with Mercier, Gouin & Lemieux. He later became a partner in the firm of Gouin, Lemieux & Decarie. In 1903 he formed a partnership with A. Decary under the firm name of Decarie & Decary. He was an unsuccessful Liberal candidate to the House of Commons of Canada for the riding of Jacques-Cartier in the 1900 federal election. Ferme-Neuve
Ferme-Neuve (French for "New Farm") is a municipality part of the Antoine-Labelle Regional County Municipality, in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada. It is the largest incorporated municipality of the Laurentides region. The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017.
