The Regional Reception Centre (french: link=no, Centre régional de réception) is a Canadian federal prison for men located with Archambault Institution at the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) complex at Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec, a short distance from Mirabel International Airport. The Special Handling Unit (SHU; french: link=no, Unité spéciale de détention or USD), within the centre, is Canada's highest security ( supermax) prison. As of 2008, there were 90 prisoners at the SHU. In English it is nicknamed "the SHU" (pronounced 'shoe'), and in French it is the "USD". The six-wing radial-shaped facility is surrounded by three rows of fencing, which is in turn surrounded by farms. Inmates are always handcuffed in the presence of officers. Blainville is a suburb of Montreal located on the North Shore in southwestern Quebec, Canada. La Plaine is an off-island suburb of Montreal, and a formerly incorporated town in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It lies north of Montreal and Laval. It is now part of the city of Terrebonne in the Les Moulins Regional County Municipality. It is part of the administrative division of Lanaudière. Laurentides
The Laurentides () is a region of Quebec. While it is often called the Laurentians in English, the region includes only part of the Laurentian mountains. It has a total land area of and its population was 589,400 inhabitants as of the 2016 Census. The area is the traditional territory of the Algonquin First Nation. French Canadians began settlement in the first half of the 19th century, establishing an agricultural presence throughout the valleys.
