Stade Municipal or Stade Saint-Estève as it is sometimes known, is a rugby stadium in Saint-Estève a suburb of Perpignan. It is the current home of Saint-Estève XIII Catalan who play in the Elite One Championship in France. The stadium has a 6,000 capacity with 2,000 of these seated. History Built in 1965 for the use of new rugby league club AS Saint-Estève the stadium then as now has two stands along the side of the pitch with open ends behind the sticks with a perimeter fence and floodlights. In 1985 the ground received a refurbishment which included the building of a fitness room along with new changing rooms. When AS Saint-Estève merged with XIII Catalan the new club Union Treiziste Catalane or as they were also known UTC played some matches at the ground over the next six years. The France national rugby league team represent France in international rugby league matches. They are referred to as ''les Chanticleers'' or less commonly as ''les Tricolores''. The team is run under the auspices of the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII. The French rugby league team first played in 1934 on a tour of England. They have taken part in all World Cups, 16 in total, with the first being held in 1954 in France. They have never won the title but finished runners-up in both 1954 and 1968. These are often considered the glory years of French rugby league as from the 1950s to the 1970s the team were strong and regularly beat Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain. Jerome (; la, Eusebius Sophronius Hieronymus; grc-gre, Εὐσέβιος Σωφρόνιος Ἱερώνυμος; – 30 September 420), also known as Jerome of Stridon, was a Christian priest, confessor, theologian, and historian; he is commonly known as Saint Jerome. Jean-Marc Garcia is a French rugby league footballer who represented France in the 1995 and 2000 World Cups. Playing career Garcia played for AS Saint Estève in the French Rugby League Championship. He was first selected for France in 1991 and spent the rest of the decade as part of the side, playing in forty test matches. In 1995 Garcia transferred to the Sheffield Eagles. Saint-Estève XIII Catalan who were previously called Union Treiziste Catalane or UTC for short are a semi-professional rugby league team based in Perpignan in the region of Pyrénées-Orientales in the south of France. Founded in 2000 after a merger between AS Saint-Estève and XIII Catalan the club plays in the Elite One Championship which is the top tier rugby league competition in France. Serbia National Rugby League Team
The Serbia national rugby league team represents Serbia in the sport of rugby league football. They have competed in international competition since 2003 under the administration of the Serbian Rugby League. They are coached by Englishman Darren Fisher, and captained by Stevan Stevanović. History 1950s–1960s Rugby League was first played in Serbia in 1953 when it was introduced by Dragan Marsicevic, secretary of the Yugoslav Sport Association. Two French teams toured later that year, and in 1954 the clubs Partizan and Radnički were formed. These clubs played their first match on 26 April 1954.
