Le Fjord-du-Saguenay (''The Fjord of the Saguenay iver') is a regional county municipality in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada. Its seat is Saint-Honoré, which is also its most populous municipality. It is named for the fjord part of the Saguenay River, protruding out of the Saint Lawrence River into the southern section of the RCM. It is located adjacent to the city of Saguenay and practically surrounds it. It has a land area of and a Canada 2011 Census population of 20,465 inhabitants. Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (, ) is a region in Quebec, Canada. It contains the Saguenay Fjord, the estuary of the Saguenay River, stretching through much of the region. It is also known as Sagamie in French, from the first part of "Saguenay" and the last part of "Piekouagami", the Innu name (meaning "flat lake") for Lac Saint-Jean, with the final "e" added to follow the model of other existing region names such as Mauricie, Témiscamie, Jamésie, and Matawinie. With a land area of 98,712.71 km2 (38,113.9 sq mi), the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean is, after the Nord-du-Québec and Côte-Nord regions, the third-largest of Quebec regions in the area. Mont-Valin, Quebec
Mont-Valin is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec. It makes up over 87% of Le Fjord-du-Saguenay Regional County Municipality and is the largest subdivision of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. The territory, named after Mount Valin, had a population of 10 as of the Canada 2021 Census, and covered a land area of 33,540.39 km2. The territory has one settlement: the hamlet of Chutes-des-Passes, located north of Chicoutimi (). It was founded in 1941, when Alcan built a dam on the Peribonka River. When operation of the dam was automated in 1974, the community was almost entirely abandoned. The Mont-Valin unorganized territory is a strip of land that stretches from Saguenay River bank to the north.
