Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly is a municipality in the Municipalité régionale de comté de Lotbinière in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population is 1,462 as of 2009. Member of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec, Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly has been colonized since the early beginnings of New France. The '' seigneurie'' of Villieu was sold in 1700 to Pierre-Noël Le Gardeur de Tilly, and because the ''seigneurie'' of Tilly, which is still part of the municipality's name today. The Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec (french: Association des plus beaux villages du Québec) is an association created in 1997 by Jean-Marie Girardville and inspired from similar associations in France, Belgium, and Italy. Saint-Apollinaire, Quebec
Saint-Apollinaire is a municipality in the Municipalité régionale de comté de Lotbinière in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population is 7,968 as of 2021. It is named after Saint Apollinaris (french: Saint Apollinaire). History In 1738, Angélique le Gardeur, daughter of the seigneur of Tilly, became a widow and was granted a seigneury which she named the seigneury of Gaspé, after her late husband. This seigniory is located to the south of the seigniory of Tilly. the current municipality of St-Apollinaire is within the limits of that seigneury of Gaspé. In 1806, a road crossing the territory of the seigneury of Gaspé was opened between Saint-Nicolas (today Lévis) and Saint-Gilles, which allowed the developpement of the county of Lotbinière. Lévis, Quebec
Lévis () is a city in eastern Quebec, Canada, located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Quebec City. A ferry links Old Quebec with Old Lévis, and two bridges, the Quebec and the Pierre-Laporte, connect western Lévis with Quebec City. The population in July 2017 was 144,147. Neuville, Quebec
Neuville is a village on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River, just west of Quebec City, part of the Portneuf Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1684, it remains picturesque. The 19th-century artist, Antoine Plamondon, ( 1804–1895) had moved here by 1850 with his mother, brother, and sister. Donnacona is an industrial town located about west of Quebec City in Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. History Some people believe the city was named after Donnacona, a 16th-century St. Lawrence Iroquois chief who was taken to France. The chieftain lived further down-river in Stadacona.
