Fressin () is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. Geography A farming village situated east of Montreuil, at the junction of the D155 and the D154 roads. Fressin nestles in the valley of the Planquette, one of several small rivers that flow through the region known as the 'Seven Valleys'. Mixed arable and dairy farming is the predominant occupation of the inhabitants. Montreuil (; also nl, Monsterole), also known as Montreuil-sur-Mer (; pcd, Montreu-su-Mér or , literally ''Montreuil on Sea''), is a sub-prefecture in the Pas-de-Calais department, northern France. It is located on the Canche river, not far from Étaples. The sea, however, is now some distance away. Montreuil-sur-Mer station has rail connections to Arras and Étaples. Sights Montreuil is surrounded by notable brickwork ramparts, constructed after the destruction of the town by troops of Habsburg emperor Charles V in June 1537. These fortifications pre-date the extensive fortification of towns in northern France by Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban in the 17th century. Créquy () is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. Geography One of many small villages in Artois, Créquy gives it name to the small stream, the Créquoise, that rises in the nearby hills and is one of the waterways of the 'Seven Valleys' tourist area. Population Coat of arms The Créquy coat of arms is derived from 'ardentis quercus robur mythicon' ('the flaming oak of myth'). The aforementioned oak was a particularly fine example of the genus, with particularly impressive girth, which was a popular gathering point for visitors around the summer solstice (ambiguous; dates of recorded assemblages are sporadic & the solstictic link may be happenchance).
