Saima Manzoor
Saima Manzoor also known as Saima Waqas (born 24 March 1981) is a Pakistani badminton player. She was the bronze medalists at the 2006 South Asian Games in the mixed doubles and team events. Manzoor won the 2016 Pakistan International tournament in the women's doubles event. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Valiyaveetil Diju (born 4 January 1981), also known as V. Diju, is an Indian badminton player from Kozhikode, Kerala. He clinched six National Championships title, once in the men's doubles and five times in the mixed doubles. He represented India in the 2012 London Olympics, became the first Indian player to participate at the Olympics in the mixed doubles alongside Jwala Gutta. He is the winner of Arjuna Award 2014, given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, government of India to recognize his outstanding achievement in National sports. He is also the winner of G. V. Raja awards, which is the highest government-level recognition for sports persons in Kerala. He is winner of Jimmy George award 2014. Palwasha Bashir (born 20 October 1987) is a badminton player, born in Karachi, Pakistan. Bashir was crowned as the National Champion in 2009, winning the women's singles and doubles titles. Palwasha has been representing Pakistan for several years in different International competitions. Initially rising as a star on a national level by winning back-to-back national titles. She won the bronze medal at the 2010 South Asian Games held in Dhaka. This achievement led her to a greater fame and acknowledgement in Pakistan.
