Sails.js (or Sails) is a model–view–controller (MVC) web application framework developed atop the Node.js environment, released as free and open-source software under the MIT License. It is designed to make it easy to build custom, enterprise-grade Node.js web applications and APIs. Emulating the MVC architecture of other frameworks, like Ruby on Rails, it offers similar pattern and familiarity, reducing the cognitive burden when switching between other frameworks/languages. WebSocket
WebSocket is a computer communications protocol, providing full-duplex communication channels over a single TCP connection. The WebSocket protocol was standardized by the IETF as in 2011. The current API specification allowing web applications to use this protocol is known as ''WebSockets''. It is a living standard maintained by the WHATWG and a successor to ''The WebSocket API'' from the W3C. WebSocket is distinct from HTTP.
