Sailing at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore took place between 17 and 25 August. National Sailing Centre
The National Sailing Centre is located at the south-eastern tip of Singapore along the East Coast Park. It occupies 2.4 hectares of land. History Opened in June 1999, the National Sailing Centre is approximately 51 minutes away from the Youth Olympic Village via the highway. Equipped with a large berthing area for boats, it also comprises an administration block, a multi-purpose sports hall, a cafeteria, a dormitory and an auditorium, the Centre has been the first-choice location for regional and international competitions. An ideal location for sailing competitions, the National Sailing Centre’s strategic position makes full use of the south-west and north-east winds for year-round sailing. Sailing At The 2014 Summer Youth Olympics
Sailing at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 18 to 23 August at Jinniu Lake in Nanjing, China. Qualification Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) could enter a maximum of 4 boats, 1 per event. As hosts, China was given the maximum quota of 4, but since they did not compete in any of the qualification events, the spots were reallocated. An extra additional spot was created in the girls' Techno 293 event and given to China. A further 8, 2 in each event, was decided by the Tripartite Commission. The remaining 88 places were allocated based on qualification events, namely the 2013 World Championships and six continental qualification tournaments for each boat. If a country declined a spot or if there were spots that remained unfilled after the qualification event, the quota was reallocated to another nation, with priority going to nations that had not qualified for any sailing events. Kieran Martin (sailor)
Kieran Martin (born 1990 in Drumraney, County Westmeath) is an Irish sportsperson. A dual player, he plays both Gaelic football and hurling with his local club Maryland and has been a member of the Westmeath senior inter-county team in both codes since 2009. Playing career Martin was a playing member of the team that defeated Dublin at Parnell Park in the 2019 O'Byrne Cup final, his county's first time to win that trophy since 1988. He won his second piece of silverware of 2019 when Westmeath won the 2019 National Football League Division 3 league title by a goal against Laois at Croke Park, Martin scored 0–1.
