Syedpur (Saidpur) ( bn, সৈয়দপুর) is a city of Nilphamari district in Rangpur Division of Bangladesh. The city has become a very important communication hub for adjoining major district headquarters. Rangpur Cantonment ( bn, রংপুর সেনানিবাস) is a cantonment located in Rangpur, Bangladesh. It is the headquarter of 66th Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army. History The mass of the city of Rangpur were protesting against the Pakistanis from a very beginning of the year 1971. Consequently, some revolutionaries including one teenager laid down their lives on the streets of Rangpur. This was even referred in famous 7 March Speech of Bangabandhu.
