Sagara, Shimoga District
Sagara is a city located in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is also a sub divisional and a taluk headquarters. Located in the Sahyadri Mountain range on the banks of river Varada, it is known for its proximity to Jog Falls and to the historical places of Ikkeri, Keladi and Varadamoola. The river Varada originates near Varada-moola. Sagara subdivision consists of Sagara, Soraba, Hosanagara and Shikaripur taluks. City Municipal Council Sagara city is one of the 74 Karnataka Municipal Reforms Project (KMRP) City in Karnataka. Sagara ULB was started in 1931 and became a City Municipal Council (CMC) grade two in the year 2007. The ULB consist of 31 wards with the respective number of councillors. Sagara Clan
The Sagara clan (相良氏, ''Sagara-shi'') was a Japanese samurai clan of daimyos. They were a tactical ally of the Shimazu clan. In the Edo period, they became the daimyo of the Hitoyoshi Domain and ruled until the Meiji Restoration. After the restoration, they were appointed Viscount. Origins The Sagara clan was founded by Sagara Korekane, descending from the Fujiwara clan. It is believed that the clan took its name from the manor (''shōen'') they held in Sagara, Haibara District, Tōtōmi Province during the Kamakura period. Sagara () is a king of the Suryavamsha dynasty in Hinduism. The son of Bahuka, he ruled the city of Ayodhya, with two wives, and 60,001 sons. Legend Birth Sagara was born to Bāhuka, and his wife, Yadavi, at the ashrama of Sage Aurva, while seeking refuge in the hermitage from the attacks of Tālajaṅgha, the king of Hehaya. While Yadavi was in the seventh month of her pregnancy, her co-wife administered a poison to her, due to which she remained pregnant for seven years. When Bahuka passed away in the hermitage, Yadavi was ready to follow him in his funeral pyre, but was prevented by Aurva, who promised her that her child would grow up to become a great and fortunate emperor. Yadavi delivered shortly. As the poison (''gara'') given to her by her co-wife had immobilised her pregnancy, Aurva named her son Sagara (Sa-with, gara-poison). Brendan Sagara
Brendan Masayoshi Sagara (born January 25, 1975) is an American professional baseball coach. He was a pitching coach for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Career Sagara attended Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii, and the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, where he played college baseball for the Hawaii–Hilo Vulcans from 1992 to 1996. He pitched in four games for the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League in 1999. From 2000 through 2012, Sagara served as a pitching coach and as an assistant director of player procurement for various independent professional leagues. ''Full Metal Panic!'' is a series of light novels written by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shiki Douji running from 1998 to 2011. The series follows Sousuke Sagara, a member of the covert anti-terrorist private military organization known as Mithril, who is tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori a hot-headed Japanese high school girl. Sanosuke Sagara
is a Character (arts), fictional character from the ''Rurouni Kenshin'' manga and anime series created by Nobuhiro Watsuki. In the English anime adaptations he is known as Sanosuke Sagara and nicknamed Sano. Watsuki, being a fan of the Shinsengumi, created Sanosuke by basing his name and characteristics on that of a real Shinsengumi member named Harada Sanosuke. Set during a fictional version of Japan in the pre-Meiji period, Sanosuke is a former member of the Sekihōtai, Sekihō Army. When the group is destroyed by the Government of Meiji Japan, Meiji Government, he becomes a fighter-for-hire to calm his anger by fighting. Sagara Taketō
was a samurai and retainer of the Ōuchi clan and a son of Sagara Masato. Originally from Higo Province, he served the Ōuchi clan as his father had become a retainer of the clan. From around 1543 with the support of Ōuchi Yoshitaka, he led a faction of retainers who preached a softer approach, as opposed to the faction led by Sue Harukata, which preached a hard-line stance. One of the reasons for the internal feud of the Ōuchi clan was a result of Taketo and Harukata arguing over the future course of the clan. In 1550, facing an impending clash with Harukata, he tried to flee to Chikuzen Province, but was captured and placed under house arrest. Taketo tried to appease Harukata by having his daughter marry Harukata's son, but the relationship remained cold.
