Sagar Thapa
Sagar Thapa (born 21 November 1985) is a association football, footballer from Nepal, and was until October 2015 the captain of the national team. He made his first appearance for the Nepal national football team in 2003. Since then, Thapa has represented his country in 50 international matches which puts him behind only Bal Gopal Maharjan and Upendra Man Singh. In October 2015, five members of the All Nepal Football Association, including Sagar Thapa and Sandip Rai, were arrested for match fixing. He was supposed to take 5 lakhs per fixed match. Early life Thapa was born in the village of Machhegaun in Kathmandu District, although he spent most of childhood in Dharan, Nepal, Dharan and Biratnagar. When he was in eight grade Thapa was offered a scholarship by the Daffodil School of Kathmandu. In 2001 at the age of 17 Thapa joined Friends Club. Machhegaun
Machhegaun (Sanskrit: मच्छेगाऊं) is a village and former Village Development Committee (Nepal), Village Development Committee that is now part of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. Bangladesh National Football Team
The Bangladesh national football team ( bn, বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় ফুটবল দল) is the national recognised football team of Bangladesh and is controlled by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). The 2011 South Asian Football Federation Championship, sponsored by Karbonn Mobiles and officially named Karbonn SAFF Championship 2011, was the 9th tournament of the SAFF Championship, which held in New Delhi, India. Venue It was originally scheduled to take place in Orissa, India, but was switched to New Delhi by the executive committee of the All India Football Federation on 22 September. 2010 AFC Challenge Cup
The 2010 AFC Challenge Cup was the third edition of the tournament which was held from 16–27 February 2010 in Sri Lanka. India, the defending champions, fielded their under-23 team for this tournament in preparation for the 2010 Asian Games later that year. The champions, North Korea, qualified for the 2011 Asian Cup. Qualification The finals saw three automatic qualifiers joined by five teams from the qualification phase. 2004 AFC Asian Cup Qualification
The qualification process for the 2004 AFC Asian Cup football competition began in March 2003. Out of the 45 AFC members, only Cambodia and the Philippines failed to enter for the tournament. Both China, the hosts and Japan, the reigning champions automatically qualified for the finals. The lowest ranked 20 teams were placed in 6 preliminary qualifying groups of 3 and one group of 2, with the group winners joining the remaining 21 teams in 7 groups of 4.
