Safiq Rahim
Safiq bin Rahim (Jawi alphabet, Jawi: صفيق بن رحيم; born 5 July 1987) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Malaysian Super League club Johor Darul Ta'zim F.C., Johor Darul Ta'zim. He has represented the Malaysia national team since 2007. Safiq is widely regarded as one of the best Malaysian midfielders of all time. Safiq has played for Selangor F.C., Selangor, PLUS F.C., KL PLUS, Melaka United F.C., Melaka United and Johor Darul Ta'zim. He was the part of Johor Darul Ta'zim squad which won the 2015 AFC Cup, AFC Cup in 2015 and also the part of Selangor squad which won the 2010 Malaysia Super League. Malaysia National Football Team
The Malaysia national football team () represents Malaysia in international football and is controlled by the Football Association of Malaysia. The national team is recognised by FIFA as the successor of the defunct Malaya national football team which was founded for the 1963 Merdeka Tournament one month before the institution of Malaysia. The team is officially nicknamed ''Harimau Malaya'' in reference to the Malayan Tiger. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. The 2010 AFF Championship, sponsored by Suzuki and P&G and officially known as the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, was the 8th edition of the AFF Championship, took place on 1–29 December 2010. Indonesia and Vietnam hosted the group stage from 1 to 8 December. Two-legged home-and-away semi-finals and finals were held between 15 and 29 December 2010. Vietnam were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Malaysia in the semi-finals. Indonesia appeared in their fourth final while the Philippines qualified for the semi-finals for the first time under the management of Simon McMenemy. The 2007 AFF Championship was the 6th edition of the AFF Championship, the football championship of Southeast Asia. The group stage was co-hosted by Singapore and Thailand from 12 to 17 January. Knockout stage with two-leg Home-and-away format was hosted from 23 January to 4 February 2007. It was renamed from the Tiger Cup, due to the cup's main sponsor, Tiger Beer, not continuing their title sponsorship. This was the last event held at Singapore's National Stadium before its redevelopment.
