Safe Sex (film)
''Safe Sex'' is a 1999 Greek comedy film written and directed by Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanasiou. When the film was released in Greece, it was considered a blockbuster. Plot The film features an ensemble cast of Greek actors portraying various characters, each living his own story in modern Greece. Almost everyone of the protagonists is interrelated to each other, and all live their own parallel stories which often converge at several points. Several professional actors appear briefly or in non-speaking cameo roles. As a result, there is no central plot or prominent protagonist who may be singled out. The major theme of the movie is sex and each character's approach to it, portrayed in a comedic way. Evelina Papoulia
Evelina Papoulia (Greek: Εβελίνα Παπούλια; born 25 March 1971) is a Greek actress and dancer. She is best known for her role as Marina Kountouratou in the TV series '' Dyo Xenoi'' (1997). Career In 1989 she moved to New York City to study dance at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and acting at The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. During her time in New York City, she took part in several plays, such as "West Side Story" (1993), while participating in the Mega Dance Company. Originally she wanted to obtain the American citizenship, but failing to do so she returned to Athens in 1993 and continued working as an actress. Evelina first claimed stardom as the hysterical blond TV persona Marina Kountouratou, who fell in love with a man of classic education, in " Dyo Xenoi" in 1997. Tzimis Panousis
Tzimis Panousis (; 12 February 1954 – 13 January 2018) was a Greek musician, stand-up comedian and occasional film and theater actor born in Athens, where he spent most of his life. He is often seen as the modern-day Aristophanes. His fans usually refer to him as “Tzimakos” (little Jim). His first wife was Lili Achladioti with whom he had a son, Aris. He later married Athina Aidini and they had a daughter, Fotini. Early biography Dimitrios Panousis was born on 12 February 1954 in Athens to refugees from Asia Minor, Theodoros and Foteini, and grew up in Cholargos. He made his first appearance in the mid-1970s, performing in various pubs, with his band "Mousikes Taxiarhies" (Musical Brigades, el, Μουσικές Ταξιαρχίες). Andreas Voutsinas ( el, Ανδρέας Βουτσινάς; 22 August 1930 – 8 June 2010) was a Sudanese-Greek actor and theater director. In the English-speaking world, he was best known for his roles in three Mel Brooks films, '' The Producers'' (1967), ''The Twelve Chairs'' (1970) and ''History of the World, Part I'' (1981). Life and career Voutsinas was born on 22 August 1932 in Khartoum, since there was a sizeable community of Greek settlers in Sudan at the time. His parents hailed from the Ionian Island of Kefalonia. They set up a pasta factory in the Anglo-Egyptian colony, "reputedly supplying spaghetti to Italian forces" during the Fascist invasion of Abyssinia. After the collapse of the business during WWII, Voutsinas moved with his mother to Athens.
