Saeed Ahmed (cricketer)
Saeed Ahmed ( ur, ; born 1 October 1937) is a Pakistani preacher and former cricketer who is the member of Tablighi Jamaat after retirement. He played in 41 Test matches between 1958 and 1972. He was born in 1937 at Jalandhar in what was then British Punjab, part of British India and educated at Government Islamia College in Lahore. He played as a right-handed middle order batsman with a powerful drive and bowled off-breaks. He is the brother of another cricketer Younis Ahmed. Saeed made his Test début on 17 January 1958 against the West Indies at Bridgetown. He made 65 in the second innings, at one stage partnering with Hanif Mohammad who went on to make 337. Saeed finished the series with 508 runs. He went on to captain his side in three drawn Tests in 1968–69 but his career ended in controversial circumstances when he declared himself unfit for the third Test against Australia in 1972 due to what he claimed was a back injury. Hanif Mohammad
Hanif Mohammad PP ( ur, , 21 December 1934 – 11 August 2016) was a Pakistani cricketer. He played for the Pakistani cricket team in 55 Test matches between the 1952–53 season and the 1969–70 season. He averaged 43.98 scoring twelve centuries. At his peak, he was considered one of the best batsmen in the world despite playing at a time when Pakistan played very little Test cricket; Hanif played just 55 Test matches in a career spanning 17 years. In his obituary by ESPNcricinfo, he was honoured as the original Little Master, a title later assumed by Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar. He was the first Pakistani to score a triple hundred in a Test match. Neil James Napier Hawke (27 June 1939 – 25 December 2000) was an Australian Test cricketer and leading Australian rules footballer. Early years Born in Cheltenham, South Australia, Hawke quickly developed as a natural all-round sportsman who excelled in cricket, football and golf. Cricket Hawke also made an impact on the cricket field as a medium-fast swing bowler with an unusual "crab-like'" action, a capable lower-order batsman and a sound fieldsman. He made his first-class cricket debut for Western Australia in November 1959, scoring 89 and returning the figures of 0/49. Nelson Cricket Club, based at Seedhill in Nelson, Lancashire, are a cricket club in the Lancashire League. They play at the Seedhill ground in Nelson. Their captain for the 2016 season is Neil Thompson and their professional is Ryan Bailey. Nelson Cricket Club was formed in 1861 when two other local clubs merged. Des Hoare
Desmond Edward Hoare (born 19 October 1934) is a former Australian cricketer who played in one Test match in 1961. He also played Australian rules football for East Fremantle in the West Australian National Football League (WANFL). Life and career A tall fast bowler and useful lower-order batsman, Hoare played for Western Australia from 1955–56 to 1965–66. He was selected for the Fourth Test against the West Indies in 1960–61, replacing the injured Alan Davidson. He took the wickets of Conrad Hunte and Frank Worrell and made 35 in a ninth-wicket partnership of 85 with Richie Benaud in the drawn match. Davidson returned to the team for the Fifth Test. Hoare was not selected for the tour to England in 1961, and when the Australian touring team played Western Australia at the end of the 1960–61 season, he opened the batting for Western Australia and hit 133, his only century. Intikhab Alam
Intikhab Alam Khan (Urdu:) (born 28 December 1941) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 47 Test matches and four One Day Internationals from 1959 to 1977. He captained Pakistan in 17 Tests between 1969 and 1975. He also played in English county cricket for Surrey between 1969 and 1981. Prior to this Intikhab was professional for several years at West of Scotland Cricket Club in Glasgow and also coached at The Glasgow Academy. In August 1967, at the Oval, he joined Asif Iqbal for a ninth wicket stand of 190 runs. This remained as a World record for around 30 years.
